Last month for the first time New York held a Fashion Week strictly dedicated to Men.  The four day event brought editors, buyers, bloggers, and fashion lovers together to view the upcoming collections from some of the greatest men’s lines.  And not to anyone’s surprise the highly anticipated show was quite a success.

The mood of the event was described as “chill” a much more different vibe than women’s fashion week.  It had less chaos since there are fewer men designers, it allowed the designers to hold their shows much closer to others which was a plus.  The show was more about the fashion and the designers and not so much about which famous person was sitting in the front rows of each designers show.

The marketing at the Men’s show was a lot more clean and organized and not so much as plastered in every corner as at the women’s shows are, making the venues more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.  Even the usual chaos going on behind doors with the models was minimal to none.  What made the shows even more enjoyable to watch was the different looks of each male model.  Tattoos, piercings, facial hair, beefed up and tiny models rocked the runways.  There were no real age boundaries of these models, even a 54 year old walked the runway.  A few designers even mixed up their runway vibe by adding a few female models into their shows.

With the success of the first New York’s Fashion Week: Men’s we can’t wait to see what these designers will come with for the next round.  Step back ladies these men are making and even bigger statement in the already competitive world of fashion.
